Internationalism is a process that pulls in a society—the business community, the public sector, greater society—and connects them to the outside world. Done well, it creates to economic prosperity as businesses connect to global customers, hire national and international workers, increased service sector and housing market and grows the local area. Done poorly, it creates a downward spiral with population decreases, unemployment and lost tax revenues that further decline.
